Teens Only Ask a Question Parents Resources

I had sex with my boyfriend three weeks ago. My period was six days late and I took a urine test with the result, negative. Then I got my period but it was lighter than usual. What worried me was that I read on another website that sometimes there is an implantation bleed at about the time your period is due, during the second week of pregnancy, and is lighter than usual. As you can see all these things fit my situation and I was worrying if you think I could still be pregnant even though the test said no. Any information or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Dear AP,

Yes, the information that you read was correct. However, given the negative pregnancy test and the likelihood of an implantation bleed, chances favor a non-pregnancy.

However, you may want to take another pregnancy test now just to put your mind at ease.
